I really don't know how to begin writing this blog post. Most of you know that nearly four years ago my colleagues and I opened a Cultural Exchange Center and Coffee Shop here in Xi'an. We were filled with excitement and expectation about what the future would bring. We dedicated the place to Him and wrote verses all over the walls.
On September 29th, we served our last cup of coffee and closed the coffee shop down. The children's club portion of the center will be ending at the end of this month.
It has not been an easy road and deciding to let the business go has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. (Thankfully the decision was not just mine to make. My team here also felt after much fasting and prayer that this is the direction He was leading us in.)
Please keep my team as well as our staff in your thoughts and prayers. Transition is never easy and many of our staff are seeking Him about what their next steps should be. Please ask that our team would have wisdom about how to go about selling our business and all of our assets. It seems that in China, closing a business is even more difficult than setting one up. As for me, I think I am in a little shock over this and have not really processed it well. Ask that I, as well as my team, and the rest of our staff would feel carried by Him through this whole process.

just saw this today Mara (sorry I am so behind) - I will be in prayer for you and your teammates for peace and direction as to where you go next - I wish I could hug you and pray with you in person, but will definitely do it from here <3
