Still, my soul be still

I just walked into my room and I am quite overwhelmed. It is a mess. There is a reason for the mess. I am packing up everything for my return to China. Some things will be put into storage. Most of it needs to be taken to China. I have no idea how it is all going to get there.

The past few days have been pretty busy. I have gotten a lot done. However, there is still a lot that needs to be done. On top of it, sleep has been hard to come by.

I always seem to have a song for various stages of my life. In the past few days I have been listening to a song called “Still, My Soul Be Still” sung by Kristen Getty. I love the hymns that the Gettys write. Their music has become a quick favorite.

This song is my recent repeat song. It is good to be reminded in the middle of the busyness to stop and be still...to rest in Him alone.

Still, My Soul Be Still
Still my soul be still

And do not fear

Though winds of change may rage tomorrow

God is at your side

No longer dread

The fires of unexpected sorrow

Chorus:

God You are my God

And I will trust in You and not be shaken

Lord of peace renew

A steadfast spirit within me

To rest in You alone

Still my soul be still

Do not be moved

By lesser lights and fleeting shadows

Hold onto His ways

With shield of faith

Against temptations flaming arrows

Still my soul be still

Do not forsake
The Truth you learned in the beginning

Wait upon the Lord

And hope will rise

As stars appear when day is dimming
