My favorite time of the year is almost here. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love getting together with family and friends. I especially enjoy this time of the year in China because I am able to share with my friends the reason for why we celebrate.
I am thrilled be to able to celebrate with my family this year. My brother Caleb and his wife Amanda will be here for Thanksgiving. In fact, they will be arriving in Wisconsin next Monday. I can't wait to see them.
I had my first sip of eggnog today. I had told my mom when I got back from China that I could hardly wait till Christmas so that I could drink eggnog. It sure did taste good!
Today I met a family on the street here in Watertown that looked like they were Chinese. I asked them if they could speak Chinese. They could. In fact, they didn't speak English. They had been here for a month and did not know how they were going to enroll their kids in school. I helped them sign up for classes and will go with the kids to their first day of school on Monday.
I am excited about these new friendships. They have come just in time to celebrate the holiday season with us. I hope that there will be many opportunities to share with them the real reason why we celebrate!
