To be honest, I a
m not even good at riding a bike. Many people do ride bikes in China. Many years ago I decided that I too would join them and ride a bike as my main form of transportation. I got on the bike and was feeling pretty good about myself. I felt great--it felt exhilarating. That is until a bus turned in front of me and clipped the front tire and as a result I ended up plastered to a telephone pole with many bruises to show from it. I have since had a fear of riding bikes in China and decided that walking is really quite enjoyable. But here in America, I don’t really have very many transportation options. Walking is not really an option -- not like it is in China. While I do not like to drive I must say that having a car has been a huge blessing. I have the freedom to go places at any time of the day or night that I choose.
As many of you know, I have been doing quite a bit of traveling recently. This means that I am driving a lot as well. Yesterday the winds were pretty bad and it was raining for a good part of my trip. I have to admit that there were a couple of times where I thought I might lose control of the car. Father is good and I arrived safely but it was not without a lot of lifting up the situation.
I covet your thoughts as I travel. Ask that I would sense His peace. (It won’t be long and I will have to relearn how to drive in the snow.) Ask that His hand of protection would be upon me as I travel.
