Spring

I love China in the spring! Everywhere I look there are buds and blossoms on the trees. People come out from their homes and spend time outside. It is not uncommon to see grandpas and grandmas with their grandchildren, people gathered around a majiang game (a Chinese game that people love to play), children flying kites, ladies out doing fan dances or men writing calligraphy with water on the cement. It seems that everyone is happy in the spring.

I also love China in the spring because it is a wonderful opportunity to share about New Life with my friends. It is fun to paint eggs with both children and adults and explain to them why we celebrate new life. It is a wonderful opportunity to invite people to join me on Sunday for our special activities.

Spring is an opportunity for me as well to stop and reflect on the meaning of Life. To remember what a huge sacrifice has been made for me....so that I may live and experience New Life. It is a time to stand in awe of the fact that He is not dead...He is Risen!
